Today’s smartphone apps make it easy to address many of your wardrobe and beauty needs, whether it’s ordering a garment or shoes, organizing your closet to achieve different looks, or finding reviews for the latest skincare product. You can now make purchases in the comfort of your own home, any time of day, and comparison shop to make sure you’re getting the best price.
I find apps can be very useful when working with a client, whether we’re shopping in a store or doing a closet consultation. Clients love to get a quick visual of an optional color or size, and having access to pricing is great for budgeting. Here are a few of my favorite apps:
Closet+ is a free app that can help take the stress out of organizing your closet. Categorize your clothing by color, assemble complete outfits for work, weekend or evening events, and use the built-in calendar feature to track past outfits as well as to plan ahead. Closet+ is an indispensable travel companion, with its convenient packing list to save time when you’re on the go. My favorite feature is the wardrobe stats, where you can keep track of how many pairs of black shoes you actually own. (No need to buy that 10th pair!) Download Closet+
ASOS is a favorite app among smart, stylish shoppers who want a single source for collecting favorite looks and purchasing directly from the site. Push notifications keep you posted on sales and let you know when they’re about to expire, so you never miss a deal. Enter your credit or debit card number with a quick photo snap, and share favorite looks with your social platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, WhatsApp and Google+. Users love ASOS for the way it syncs across all devices and the impressive number of brands it offers – more than 850 at last count! This free app enjoys a five-star rating. Download ASOS
Bloom Beauty Trends
So much of what I talk about is lifestyle dressing, so it was only fitting that I introduce you to an app that helps users connect to the latest beauty product trends. Bloom is a great resource for hairstyles, makeup looks, and products and tools for skincare and nails. This free app has an impressive five-star rating and offers users the ability to connect with hair and makeup specialists in their area. My favorite feature of Bloom is it helps you create your favorite looks with expert tips and tutorials.Download Bloom Beauty Trends
Who doesn’t like to save money? With the free ShopSavvy app, you can easily scan a barcode or QR code on clothing, healthcare and beauty items and comparison shop without driving all over town. This app connects you to both online and brick-and-mortar retailers to help you find the best price instantly. Download Shop Savvy
I hope you’ll take some time to explore these and other fun, useful tools for helping you look and feel your very best. With so many free and very inexpensive apps – and new and improved versions being introduced all the time – the options are endless!
